2005 // Angel Tree /
--
Los Angeles and its immediate surrounding counties have been identified as a city of decentralization. The sprawl condition requires a massive transportation circulation system to connect all dispersive establishments. LA is also located in a basin, and this geographical condition coupled with the high level of emission created by commuters’ results often in smog that is trapped and suspended in the sky. Angel Tree could be seen as a construction of a new landmark for Los Angeles, which is highly valued for its mobility. Powered by solar energy, the hovering ionic air purifying branches gravitate towards the primary source of smog, clusters of automobile traffic congestions. They are designed to absorb toxic particles, ionization of gases, and purify gas emissions in the air.
